The caption contest for lovers!

Funny lovers! Romantic lovers!

And, of course, comic lovers!

Launching a week before Valentine’s Day, the Last Kiss Couple-Up Contest features classic romance art and a deliberately silly caption by Papercutz Editor-in-Chief (and comics legend) Jim Salicrup.

It’s only one panel of art, but that’s part of the challenge. Can you use Salicrup’s caption (featuring a robot spouse) as a starting point and write hilarious dialogue short enough to fit into just a single panel?

This is the first in a series of quarterly Couple-Up celebrity writing contests planned by Last Kiss creator John Lustig.

Couple-Up Contest Rules & Prizes

To win, submit the funniest dialogue for the contest image by Feb. 24, 2013 at 10 p.m. PST.

Submissions must be made on the contest tab of the Last Kiss Facebook page.

You do not have to write dialogue for both word balloons. You can just have the man, the woman or both speak.

Prizes:

On Feb. 27, the winning dialogue will be lettered in the contest comic and posted on GoComics.com/lastkiss and other places where the Last Kiss webcomic appears. The winner’s name will be prominently displayed with the comic.

This instant fame will make you the envy of everyone you’ve ever known—assuming you tell them how cool it is.

You will also receive a high-quality print of your winning comic autographed by John Lustig; plus 10 Last Kiss note cards; and a frankly fabulous print of the infamous Last Kiss gag: “Wonder Woman’s First Hangover.”

At least three runners-up will be selected. Each will receive five Last Kiss note cards.

Beware of the Marriage Police!

Ladies, this is why you should always carry a wedding ring AND a marriage certificate—whether you’re married or not. You might have to prove that your fake marriage is real.

Remember. The marriage police are out there…looking for you.
