Dead Skunk Or Old Comic Books? Your choice!

Dead Skunk Or Old Comic Books? Your choice!

In honor of last week’s big, big news (Disney bought Marvel Comics) I’m running a couple of comic book-themed Last Kisses this week.

This is a strange turn of events for most die-hard comic fans. I know some people are afraid that Disney will try to “Disneyfy” Marvel–making everything G-rated and warm and fuzzy. But that’s not going to happen. I’m sure Disney wants Marvel’s harder edge and older, male-dominated demographic.

But we’ll see. In the meantime, I’m not going to “Hulk out” over it–especially since I own a bit of Marvel stock and it shot up 25 percent in one day. Nope. I’m not going to complain at all.

  1. [...] about too close for comfort, this Last Kiss Comic is really recognisable.  [...]

John, I always swore I wouldn’t ever buy Disney stock (some of their business practices are off-putting). But I did have Pixar stock and Marvel stock. What do I have now? Disney stock! (I tell non-stock-buying people this, and they just think I’m bragging. They don’t understand the amazing irony! (The Amazing Irony … no, probably not a Disney super-hero!)

Yeah, I understand about Disney’s business practices. And I appreciate the irony. Still, I think overall this is going to be a good thing. The Pixar connection may be key here. I’m curious to see if Pixar gets involved in doing some Marvel animation. If so, I may finally feel like seeing a Marvel animated feature.
