I’m sorry to say that I will not attending this week’s San Diego Comic-Con—again. But—health and commitments permitting—I fully intend to be back next year.
However, my friends at Prism Comics (Booth 2144) will once again be selling lots of Last Kiss fridge magnets (and a few Last Kiss tote bags) for me. So please stop by for some giggles.
And, if you buy some LK gifts for family, friends and yourself? I’m sure that will make your family, friends, yourself and—most importantly—me very happy!

Behind the Scenes:
Here’s a peek at my creative process this time. Until a few hours before deadline, the comic had a totally different look and more dialogue:
I liked the basic gag. In fact, I thought it might make a good fridge magnet to sell at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con. But I decided the dialogue needed to be snappier. (When it comes to products, the fewer words the better. More dialogue often equals fewer sales.)
So I quickly rewrote the gag. But then I realized that the art—which frankly wasn’t a great fit for the original dialogue—was even more out of sync the with new dialogue. So, I combed through my art inventory and came up with art to replace it.
I think it’s a better fit. But, honestly, I never know for sure…until I hear from readers. Or I sell a big bunch of fridge magnets. —John Lustig

I really enjoy meeting fans at shows. Here I am at the Prism Comics booth with Jennifer Burke Haines—who loves Last Kiss zombies gags with a shambling, walking dead passion!
This is the second year in a row that I’ve gone to Comic-Con International without a booth of my own. But 2016 was the year that I really found a home at Prism Comics. (Last year, I was just at Prism briefly each day to do signings.)
Overall, I think it worked out great.
Hoards of fans came to the giant Prism booth. More than I might’ve seen if I’d had a Last Kiss booth on my own. And, I have to say, it was a lot easier (and cheaper!) to display there as just one of many creators at the booth.
Plus, the Prism folks were incredibly nice and fun to hang with!
