No joke from me today… John, I’m really sorry to hear about your daughter, even if it was quite a while ago. I lost both of my children before they had a chance to grow up, and I still feel their loss every day. It’s really tough when a parent loses their child, no matter the reason. I really don’t have the words for you, only to say again I’m really sorry to hear about your daughter.
Thank you so much, PKM. I’m so sorry that you lost your children too. I know how painful that can be.
I didn’t go into it in my post—because I was trying to honor Laura and had a specific point I was trying to make about the importance of vaccinations—but (like you) I’ve also lost two children.
My first wife, Karen, and I were going to have our first child together back in 1982. But Karen had a grand mal seizure during delivery and I lost both her and our son, Logan.
My second wife, Shelagh, and I have had two children. Laura’s gone, but I’m happy to say our other child, Caitie, is alive, well and we’re very proud of her. She turns 33 tomorrow. So, it’s a week of sorrows and joys.
Thank you for sharing with us, John. I know that was probably painful for you to speak about and you’re right about the importance of vaccinations and using common sense to try and protect yourself and others in these extraordinary times.
I hope I can take the liberty to speak, not only for myself, but for all of your readers in wishing your daughter, Caitie a very happy 33rd birthday!
