Instant (Almost) Gay Marriage

Back in 2007, this comic ran in The Seattle Timesaccidentally.

And my new editor was not pleased.

I’d been hired as a weekly cartoonist for the paper, but when my new editor took over she wasn’t paying much (if any) attention to Last Kiss. Consequently, someone at the paper grabbed this comic (from my original presentation portfolio) and it ran big as life in the Sunday Times.

Suddenly, my editor (and her boss) were paying a lot of attention to Last Kiss. I was called in and told to never do another gay-themed comic again.

Eight years later, gay marriage is for real. (Oooh, I predicted it. I’m a genius!)

And The Seattle Times ran an editorial this weekend in favor of the Supreme Court decision that made it possible

To quote George Takei, “Ohhh, myyyy!” How times have changed!
