Love Vultures

Love Vultures

Art by Vince Colletta from the story “Involuntary Bride” from FIRST KISS #40, 1965.

Transcript:

SCENE: A man and a woman kiss as birds high above them circle in the sky.

CAPTION: The Love Vultures
circled, waiting for the
romance to die. Surely, the couple couldn’t keep kissing! Surely their love would end! Years later, the birds
were all dead–eaten by other vultures. And the man and woman? They were still kissing!

Sex without Love? No way!

Sex without Love? No way!

Art possibly by Al Avison from True Brides’ Experiences #11, April 1955, Harvey Comics.

I actually used this gag before—back in 2012. But this time I used the dialogue with different art. (See below.) I think it works better this time.
I’d love to pretend that the success of Last Kiss comics is solely dependent on the writing. But having better art really improves most gags!
