In addition to a snazzy art by Kirsten Wilson, today’s comic shows off the new Last Kiss logo by frequent contributor Diego Jourdan Pereira.
As much as I liked the old logo, this one gives me many more options and is easier to modify as needed. In particular it’s going to reproduce better and be more readable—even at very small sizes—on t-shirts and other merchandise.
Thanks, Diego!

I love Ernst Lubitsch films!
But the otherwise terrific Jack Buchanan (THE BAND WAGON, 1953) doesn’t work for me as the romantic lead in MONTE CARLO (1930) and the film isn’t as deliciously funny as most of Lubitsch’s other films.
Still, even a lesser Lubitsch film has moments that sparkle and I really like the dialogue I “borrowed” for today’s comic.
However it was just a little too verbose to fit into a single panel cartoon. So, I made some small changes to make it fit. For the sake of accuracy, the original 1930 dialog is below:
MAN WITH CIGAR: I have a system that can’t miss. If I happen to be standing beside a brunette I bet on red. If I am standing next to a redhead I bet on black.
OTHER MAN: But suppose you’re standing next to a blonde? What do you do then?
MAN WITH CIGAR: I ask where she lives.
Below is the original art for today’s comic:

Art by Dick Giordano & Vince Alascia from the story “The Ringers” in FRANK MERRIWELL AT YALE #3, 1955.
