I Trust You Forever—for Now

I Trust You Forever—for Now

I suppose I’m already crazy. (Writing one-panel comics will do that to you.) But one of the things that drives me even crazier is trying to get the wording of each gag exactly right. One word can make a huge difference.

For instance, I originally wrote this comic so that the last line of dialogue was, “Unless I catch you, of course!”

But then it hit me. This woman trusts her man do to only one thing—to cheat on her. So, it’s not a matter of “Unless.” It’s “Until!”

That’s funnier…I hope!
